Pirate Radio Logs + KAOS QSL – June 6-7, 2009

Radio Ga-Ga SSTV (2359 UTC) Godzilla Radio, 6925.5 USB, 1316 – chatter about Godzilla, ID’s. Op sounded a bit like Ultraman. Deep fades but strong during peaks. Either signed off or faded way down at 1327.

Radio Ga-Ga, 6925 USB, 2347 – SSTV image, Star-Spangled Banner by Jimi, Tom Jones, Gitarzan then the final SSTV image (pictired here) at 2359 USB. The first SSTV was received extremely poorly. Signal had improved by the time the second SSTV image was broadcast. Thanks Ga-Ga!

UnID, 6925.05 AM, 0018 – weak signal with moderate static levels, unable to ID.

UnID, 6925.8 AM, 0018 – another weak signal with moderate static levels, unable to ID.

Radio Wa-Wa SSTV (0021 UTC) Radio Wa-Wa, 6925.3 USB, 0021 – transmission consisted solely of a SSTV image in Scottie DX mode.

The Crystal Ship, 6876 AM, 0048 – poor signal, ID. Much better signal at 0218 with interview discussing Senator Kennedy.

Radio Marlene, 6925.06 USB, 0051 – Radio Marlene ID and email address, YMCA by the Village People, another ID mentioning Jersey. Weak signal but crisp audio. New station for me!

M-A-C Shortwave (tentative), 6950.65 AM, 0114 – eclectic mix of oldies, 60’s rock, jazz vocal. Not able to ID any of the songs yet. ID at 0130 but couldn’t get it. Hey Joe cover at 0131? Lex caught a M-A-C ID, some presume this was them.

Unid, 6925.3v USB, 0136 – a strange mix mentioning various AM stations such as WABC. Surely some Sycko madness, lol?

Dead Cat Radio SSTV (0418 UTC) Outhouse Radio, 6925.1 USB, 0200 – re-broadcast of the Obama D Day speech. No ID heard, but Outhouse verified this was indeed him honoring the veterans. Huge signal, by far the best of the night. Thanks Outhouse!

The Voice of KAOS, 6925 USB, 0237 – repeat of last nights broadcast, hip hops songs, multiple ID’s and email address. Better signal than last night! Thank you KAOS!

Barnyard Radio, 6925 USB, 0312 – barely audible. Brief peak at 0227 with Barnyard Radio ID. Good fade up at 0520 with ID. “North America’s Most listened to station… known as Barnyard Radio” promo at 0526. Blues Brothers with Everybody Needs Somebody To Love at 0529, Mony Mony, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Hoodoo Gurus. Chuck Manson at 0547 giving the play list. This is an excellent signal now! There Is A War by Leonard Cohen, Last Day of Magic by The Kills.

Dead Cat Radio, 6930 USB, 0418 – opening with a SSTV image of a kitty, Wrecking Ball by Emyylou Harris, White Flag & Life For Rent by Dido, Good Girls Don’t by the Knack, Love Struck Baby by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gloria by Van Morrison. ID at 0450 UTC.

QSLs Received a verie nice QSL from the Voice of KAOS for last nights broadcast. Thank you, KAOS! Looking forward to the next broadcast!
