Received an email from Andrew Yoder saying he was mailing out my copy of the Pirate Annual 2010 today!

Outhouse Radio, 6925.6 AM, *2301 – Outhouse Radio playing some blues and rock. Poor signal so far here in Memphis. Picking up a bit at 2350 with Monday, Monday then Play That Funky Music.

WHYP Shortwave, 6875.76 AM, after a few songs I’m not familiar with, female computer generated ID and mentioning James Brownyard. Gone at 2354, I hope JB didn’t smoke another resistor

UnID, 6955.27 AM, 0002-0004 – Unid station on the frequency for a few minutes playing a rock instrumental. An utility showed up and the broadcaster went QRT.

The Crystal Ship, 6875.9 AM, 0031 – tuned in to Little Red Rooster by the Doors, then Poet continuing with a Doors marathon. Moving into the Doors, the Who, Hendrix and other. Off the air at 0150.

WBNY, 6925 AM, 0118 – Bunny Radio on the air with MDA Telethon, playing songs for Monkeys, mentioning WBNY gear.

Wolverine Radio, 6876 USB 0200- showed up not too long after TCS signed off. Nice signal, pristine audio quality with all Doors songs, ID and off at 0209.

Ragnar’s latest edition of the Pirate’s Week podcast is out! I had an early start this morning, and was able to catch the Voice of the Last DJ!

WLDJ Voice of the Last DJ, 6925 USB, *1356-1423* – nice signal this morning, playing old school rock like Hendrix, Bad Company, Foreigner and Dire Straits. Multiple ID’s by Krystal, the computer generated female voice announcer. Here is an audio clip of the ID at 1418 UT: ♫ clip. Thank you for the early morning broadcast!

WBNY Relay Service, 6899.6 AM, *1950-2222 – started off at threshold levels and slowly strengthening after 0000 UT. Relays of Pirate’s Week, Voice of Next Thursday, promos for WBNY hats and t-shirts. *Perseus Update* noted WBNY signing on at 1950 UT with threshold audio with deep fades. A few sudden strong peaks noted around 2017z with Pirate’s Week relay programming. Another nice peak at 2218z with Ragnar talking about Sealord’s awesome DX Engineering 4 Square antenna.

The Crystal Ship, 6876.04v, *2228-0310* – very nice signal from Poet this evening, starting off with a Ho Ho Ho & a Bottle of Rum interval signal, lot’s of Elvis tunes, Jerry Lee Lewis and many others. Almost a 5 hour marathon!

Radio Ronin Shortwave, 6950.4 AM, *2308-0110* – poor to fair signal, playing rocks tune by Blue Öyster Cult, the Animals, Bob Seger, Foghat, Billy Idol, multiple IDs. Off at 0110 with ID and email.

The Voice of KAOS, 6925 USB, *2323 – KAOS signing on with Get Smart theme a repeat broadcast of the Friday evening show. Weak signal but generally readable, het from presumed Outhouse on 6925.2 AM. Hold Your Head Up

Barnyard Radio, 6930 USB, *0049-0310* – Barnyard with blowtorch signal. Chuck Manson spinning heavy tunes by Manowar, Testament, Dead Kennedys, Slayer and much more. Here is a off-air recording of the first 50 minutes of the show:

Captain Morgan Shortwave, 6924.8v AM, *0119 – good signal from the Captain, playing tons of obscure old blues tunes, excellent show.

Coyote Radio CYOT, 6950.4 AM, 0134 – Mr. Announcer spinning oldies, wishing a happy Mothers Day. Rather poor signal this evening.

Outhouse Radio, 6925 USB, 0213 – fair signal from Outhouse, playing some blues, Sabbath, Bob Seger. Outhouse mentioned he left his AM transmitter up for 7 hours. I had the carrier here but audio was threshold at best.

WEAK Radio, 6930 USB, 0325 – tuned in to WEAK in progress, and this time the signal was weak. I did cath one clear ID, but that was about all I could pull out of the broadcast.

Check out these two totally awesome QSL’s received, one from Coyote Radio and the other from WHYP Shortwave! A big thank you, thank you very much goes out to Mr. Announcer and James Brownyard! Both of these are new pirate stations verified for me!

I just realized that I never scanned and posted my Channel Z and WREC QSL cards that I received last year! I will do that soon.

WLDJ, 6925 USB, 2329 – tuned in just in time to catch an ID with email, one last song which I didn’t recognize and a partial SSTV image. New station for me, but didn’t really catch enough details for a proper report. Next time!

WLDJ, 6925 USB, 2347 – WLDJ back! Tune in to Monty Python, Tom Petty, The Who.

The Crystal Ship, 6876.08 AM, 0006 – TCS with a super marathon playing all kinds of awesome music. Including teh Nena’s 99 Luftballons! Excellent signal, perhaps the best TCS signal yet!

M-A-C Shortwave, 6850.7v AM, 0033 – Ultraman playing some awesome clarinet tunes! Mentioned Evil Elvis, thanks!! I believe Kracker was on the phone with him also.

Outhouse Radio, 6925.3v AM, 0152 – started off rebroadcasting Station M International, a shout out to Evil Elvis letting me know I can send a reception report, then getting mellow with Journey marathon.

The Crystal Ship, 6876v AM, 2243 – tune in to female computer voice ID, 10 Years After, Steve Miller. Poor signal but slowly improving.

WBNY, 6950.55 AM, 2310 – Heard Paul Starr at tune in, throwing me off the track thinking this was M-A-C. A few minutes later I made out a WBNY ID. Weak signal so far.

Voice of KAOS, 6925 USB, *2326-2355* – Sign-on with “The Voice of KAOS is on the air!”

QSLs Many thanks to Thinking Man for QSLing this weekends broadcast with this interesting QSL, my 6′th from TMR. Also, many thanks to DJ from Radio Ga-Ga for this morse QSL. My email program corrupted the image file before I saved it to my hard drive, and DJ kindly sent a replacement. This is my 15′th Radio Ga-Ga QSL!

I still haven’t got a chance to pick up my QSLs from the mail drop. I’ll post the Channel Z QSL as soon as I get my hands on it..

Disgraceland was hit by another storm early this morning and knocked power out for most of the day.

UnID, 6925 USB, 0058 – excellent peak signals but long, deep fades. Tune-in at 0058 with the program in progress, sounds like it is repeating with baseball reporting, disco demolition. Appears to have left the air at 0130 UTC.

Radio Marlene, 6925 USB, 0140 – poor signal, finally caught a clear Radio Marlene ID at 0151 UTC, into Billy Idol’s Rebel Yell.

The Crystal Ship, 6876 AM, 0200 – Fair signal, playing msuic I’ve not been familiar with. Strong ID at 0204 UTC by female computer voice, into more music.

Captain Morgan Shortwave, 6925.7v AM, 0209 – good signal from Captain Morgan tonight. Set including Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and Wrap It Up. ID’s, email and Twilight Zone theme.

Outhouse Radio, 6930.7v, 0215 – strong signal, significant deep fading. Smoking Cock BBQ spoof commerical at tune in, later playing Elton John, One Toke Over the Line, others. ID by Outhouse.

QSLs I have lots more QSL’s to report, including one new station!

First up is a nice new QSL design from Wild Bill at YRTK, verifying last night’s reception on 6953 kHz LSB. This is the second YRTK QSL in the album. Thank you, Wild Bill!

The second QSL is a disturbing new QSL from Outhouse Radio for yesterday’s ‘morning show’ on 6925 kHz USB. By the way, that was a good breakfast! This is my 6′th QSL from Outhouse, thank ya, Mr. Outhouse!

Third up is a QSL from Radio Casablanca to verify last night’s broadcast, making this my 6′th QSL from the Voice of free French Morocco. Radio Casablanca is an excellent program, well worth tuning in for some excellent nostalgia. Thank you, Rick!

The fourth QSL is from the Rhino Radio Network for last night’s broadcast of Polka Dot Rhino Radio! That poor Rhino is really dedicated! This makes my 4′th QSL from the Rhino Radio Network. Thank you, Rhino!

The the latest QSL just received was am excellent surprise from All Aboard Radio, which I reported yesterday evening on 6925 kHz USB. I’ve heard and reported this station here and on FRN quite a few times since April, and sure wasn’t expecting a QSL! This is pirate radio station #35 verified… Thank you, Casey Jones!!

Radio Ga-Ga, 6925 USB, 0047-0059 – Very poor signal, on with SSTV, heard bits of We Gotta Get Out Of This Place, second SSTV and off.

Outhouse Radio, 6925 USB, 0012-0047 – on with the singing chickens into Steve Miller songs, Big Jet Airliner, The Stake, The Joker with altered pitch. Outhouse announcement that he was leaving the mellow zone at 0040, and final ID on off at 0046.

UnID, 6926.6 USB, 0159 – Poor signal, initially heard man talking about psychedelics, then a lengthy Insane in the Membrane mix. A few moments of silence here and there during broadcast. A mashed up news report of some type. Jamba?

The Crystal Ship, 6876v AM, 0123-0325 – Marginal signal with a few peaks over the course of the broadcast. Signal drifted from an initial 6875.88 kHz up to 6976.04 khz by 0325 sign-off. Multiple “You are tuned to The Crystal Ship, the official radio voice of the blue state republic..”. A good peak for Meatloaf’s You Took The Words Right Out of My Mouth.

Outhouse Radio, 6925.06 USB, 0301-0343 – good signal, Setev Miller, Stagger Lee, Little Richard, ID, Hendrix’s Star Spangled Banner and off.

QSLs many thanks to Less Whitehouse for this no-data eQSL verifying my reception of last Friday’s night broadcast. This is pirate radio station #34 verified. Thanks!

James Bond Radio, 6925 USB, 1838 – played tons of James Bond theme songs until 1912 UTC. Very variable signal, but okay for middle of the day!

Radio Free Euphoria, 6925 USB, 2018 – good signal, We Do Hookas of Indica song at 2025. Captain Ganja mentioning Belfast drop and QSLing at 2030 into another song, I Got Stoned. (audio clip)

YTRK, Your Right To Know, 6929.9v LSB, 2028 – drum roll and YTRK ID, female computer voice of 4′th of July PSA. At 2030 UTC audio of a guy named Roy calling a mall claiming he and his wife were hurt there and demanding they pay his doctor bill. Songs Hidy Hidy Ho and Doobie Brothers Takin’ It To The Streets heard. At 2056 UTC Roy was calling some guy claiming he got stung by a bee and demanding they pay for his medical bill or he was coming down there to whoop somebody’s ass.

Radio Ga-Ga, 6925 USB, 2319-2332 – poor noisy signal tonight, SSTV image, music final SSTV and ID.

M-A-C Shortwave, 6850.0 AM, 0002 – threshold signal with high noise. Signal improved at 0019 re-check. Ultraman fighting the monster heat with a Christmas show, playing Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!

YRTK, Your Right To Know, 6944.64 LSB, 0010 – noisy signal, took a few minutes to get tuned correctly. ID by man, then female computer voice into ZZ Top’s Sharp Dressed Man.

Dead Cat Radio, 6925 USB, 0042 – DCR playing alot of patriotic tunes this evening, good signal. ID and off at 0052 UTC.

Radio Casablanca, 6939.9v AM, 0050 – poor signal with high noise, on with interval signal then National Anthem (La Marseillaise as ID’d by Dimbulb), ID and email address for reception reports at 0102 UTC.

UnID, 6925 FM, 0109 – FM modulated signal, very hard to understand.

Barnyard Radio, 6925 USB, 0142 – good signal, best one so far this evening. Sign on with non-stop laughing, ID into “I Pledge Defiance”. (audio clip)

Dead Cat Radio, 6925 USB, *0216-0227* – DCR back with unid song, the B.O.C.’s Don’t Fear the Reaper. “Dead Cat Radio” ID at 0227 and off.

Wolverine Radio, 6925 USB, 0236 – Wolverine playing a long George Carlin gig, starting with his “God Bless America” riff.

UnID, 6925 USB, 0331 – good signal, playing The Joker Was Wild, We Gotta Get Outta This Place, Don’t Sleep In The Subway, Suki Yaki. Off at 0358 UTC without ID or announcement. Dead Cat Radio?

Barnyard Radio, 6930 USB, 0358 – huge signal, crazy laughing track and Chuck Manson live playing all kinds of obscure punk songs.

The Crystal Ship, 5385.38v AM, 0441 – I should mark this one tentative since it is just above a threshold signal but surely Poet. Love Me Two Times by the Doors at 0447 UTC. Yes, caught ID at 0449 despite weak signal.

Radio Pigmeat International, 6925 USB, 0500 – great signal with a Parrot head theme with lots of Jimmy Buffet songs including Boat Drinks, Come Monday, Last Mango In Paris and Magaritaville. ID (audio clip) at 0525 and off.

QSLs Many thanks to the Voice of Honor for verifying last nights program with this new QSL card design, my second from this fine patriotic broadcaster. I’m racking up the Radio Ga-Ga QSLs! This generic eQSL makes the ninth one from the prolific Radio Ga-Ga. Thank ya, thank you very much!

An unexpected eQSL arrived this evening from Wild Bill at YTRK, Your Right To Know Radio. Verie nice surprise, thank you Wild Bill! This is pirate radio station #33 verified and in the QSL album!

WEAK Radio, 6927.98 USB, 0234 – good signal, playing Peaches by Presidents of the United States. Song repeated a few times then more songs by same band until ofter 0305 UTC. Occasional IDs, audio drop-outs. Noted back on at 0328 with Captain Lou, The Power by Power Jam featuring Chill Rob G. Good signal!

Late start tuning in tonight…

Dead Cat Radio, 6925 USB, 0245 – noisy signal tonight, back to back rock music. Meowing and “Dead Cat Radio” ID at 0254 UTC.

The Crystal Ship, 6876v AM, 0300 – noisy signal with some fair peaks, signal drifting upwards slightly. Tuned in to Last Train to Clarksville by the Monkeys, more old rock music by Dave Clark 5, Cream, Beatles, etc. ID by female computer voice: “You are listening to The Crystal Ship, broadcasting to North America on 6,876 khz…”

UnID, 6925 USB, 0340 – best signal received tonight with All Along the Watchtower by Dave Mason at tune-in, then playing back to back Michelle Branch songs as signal faded down. Gone at 0352 UTC, no announcements or ID heard. I suspect this may have been Dead Cat Radio again, he featured a bunch of Michelle Branch songs on a May 25 broadcast.

QSLs Latest QSL received is from Radio Ga-Ga, featuring Rockin’ Robin Trower. Thanks, Ga-Ga!

WBNY, 6925 kHz USB, 1930 – briefly fading up at 1930 with WBNY and Shock the Monkey talk over. Faded back up at 2050 UTC to good signal levels Commander Bunny for President, “All Hail Commander Bunny” then Commander Bunny reporting on the assassination attempt on his life, his resultant resurrection and insuring the Monkey Boys that he is not the anti-christ. Cows with Guns – Revolutionary Bovine Freedom song. Billy Wildebeest in the Land of the Gigantic Duck People – Billy the featherless Monkey having to face the fact that he is not a duck. C.R.A.P. – Citizens Requiring Acronym Purging. Show ended at 2144 UTC. This is the best signal I have had from WBNY, and a very enjoyable show indeed! (audio clip #1) (audio clip #2)

Outhouse Radio, 6925 USB, 2220 – tune in to Ventures Hawaii 5-0 theme, Outhouse Zone ID and Outhouse saying ‘this thing is hot” and he is out of here.

M-A-C Shortwave, 6850.82v AM, 0002 – Only threshold signal so far here at the Disgraceland listening post, noted at 0002 UTC with interval signal, time pips. Definite ID.

Radio Ga-Ga, 6925 USB, 0045 – SSTV image, morse code, songs included Mr Bon Scott singing Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Do Wah Diddy Diddy then final SSTV starting at 0056 UTC. ID and Op saying Happy Fathers day. and gone.

The Crystal Ship, 6876 AM, 0122 – unfortunately a poor signal all evening.

Sycko Radio, 6932.4v USB, 0224 – major Sycko craziness, talking about a strange record at 0226. Mentioning 6932 kHz and that this is a live broadcast. Talking about a new show on WBCQ, Radio Maine International, a collaboration with Jamba and Sycko. Good signal!

Radio Dismuke relay, 6925 USB, 0227 – mainly a poor signal being received here on bluffs of the Mississippi River. Professional sounding ID mentioning “tell your friends to listen” at 0253. Old big band music including Pat On The Back song at 0255 UTC as signal is strengthening to good levels. Old song Sleepy Time Down South at 0306, Mary Ann at 0309. No idea who was relaying this internet radio station.

Radio Bronco, 6925 USB, 0352 – received with very poor reception, tune in to a cowboy song ‘Ki Yi Yippie Yo”, another song or two the caught “This is Radio Bronco, this is Radio Bronco” ID at 0400 UTC. Interference from an unID station at 0402 until just after 0406 UTC, during which time Bronco was playing a song mentioning a “rider of”. Another song then perhaps gone or faded all the way down at 0410 UTC.

Outhouse Radio, 6930 USB, 0413 – great signal from 0413 UTC with lots of Ronnie Milsap including Daydreams, Smokey Mountain Rain, Theres No Gettin’ Over Me, Stranger In My House. Lengthy morse code, decoded by DimBulb on irc. This show was dedicated to Outhouse’s father who passed away earlier this year.

M-A-C Shortwave, 6924.7 AM, 0443 – Journey to the Centre of The Mind, M-A-C Shortwave’s Paul Star email address and goodbyes. Faded up to fair.

QSLs QSL’s were falling out of the inbox this morning! My 10′th WEAK Radio eQSL was received, a very nice Elvis stuffing his face with a sammich design. Radio Mushroom replied to my email reception report with a real atomic blast, and Voice of the Robots sent me a new design QSL for last nights encore show. This one has the correct date. They advise if I show both QSLs on invasion day, I will be allowed to oil their joints. Thanks guys!!
