I received my 7′th Captain Morgan QSL verification, this one for the Friday afternoon broadcast. 10 watts of pirate shortwave… Thanks Captain Morgan! Many thanks to WEAK Radio for this, my 20′th QSL verification from their station! Obviously the device featured on this QSL is an early proto-type of the Perseus SDR receiver. Happy holiday everyone. This is my 5′th different QSL from Captain Morgan, including the awesome legendary Captaion Morgan SHortwave ‘Pirate Zone’ QSL clock! This one was for one of his rare SSB broadcasts last night. The strong signal was ‘very variable’ and distorted for a while, but then settled [...] Many thanks to Nonymouse Radio for this awesome QSL design. Radio Garbonzo was active from the mid 80’s into the 90’s. Google tried to destroy this QSL a few times, but it finally made it through. Thanks Nonymouse! Radio Ronin Shortwave, 6950.6v AM, 1659 – weak signal here at high noon in Disgraceland, but a nice peak at tune in with Steve Miller, and then a Radio Ronin Shortwave ID heard at 1704. Radio Ga-Ga, 6930 USB, 2330 – starting off with threshold audio, slowly strengthning until I was able to catch ID at 2337 into Black Magic Woman. Radio Ga-Ga, 6925 USB, 2118 – threshold audio, bubbling along just above noise floor. Was able to distinguish Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder at 2118 and SSTV at 2133.
